There are plenty of dining options within Crown Center but here are a few suggestions within walking distance of the hotel. Fiorella’s, Lidia’s and Grunauer are located across the railroad tracks from Union Station and are accessible via the Freight House Pedestrian Bridge. Pierpont’s, Harvey’s and Parisi are located within Union Station itself. Bon Appetit!
Another fabulous thing about the Westin Kansas City is how accessible the conference space is to Crown Center shopping and dining! Without leaving the complex, attendees have access to a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner alternatives. Check out the Crown Center website to see all your options and find out more about the restaurants of choice!
Kansas City is a barbeque town! KC’s barbeque roots can be traced back to the early 1900s when Henry Perry started smoking meat low and slow, serving it with a thick tomato and molasses based sauce. While you’re in KC, you could eat barbeque every day and not hit all the great spots. Here are a several that I, a certified KCBS (Kansas City Barbeque Society) barbeque judge, can personally recommend. Hint: Try the Burnt Ends – they are a KC specialty!
- Oklahoma Joe’s
- Woodyard Bar-B-Que
- Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue
- Gates Bar-B-Q
- Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque
