Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope is a magical art studio where children can be creative and feel good about their own special ideas. Creating with bows, cardboard, jazzy junk, making puzzles and painting with melted crayons are just a few of the fun things to do. Independent art sessions for children ages 5-12 and family art Sessions for children of all ages! Kaleidoscope is free as a public service by Hallmark. Call for session times.

LEGOLAND Discovery Center

Fair warning, adults must be accompanied by a child to visit LEGOLAND but where else can you build a LEGO brick tower on an earthquake table or build and test your own LEGO Racer? LEGOLAND is located within Crown Center so it will be easy to fit in some quality family time!

Science City

Located across the street from the convention hotel, Science City provides hands-on science fun (and learning) for kids of all ages. Science City was named one of the best science centers in the US by Parents Magazine and has events and attractions sure to amuse and instruct the entire family.

Kansas City Zoo

Voted one of America’s Best Zoos in 2008, this 202 acre zoo was founded in 1909 and has something for the entire family.  Extensive renovations began in 2005 and in 2010 a new polar bear exhibit, Polar Bear Plunge, was introduced.  This exhibit has both indoor and outdoor viewing areas where zoo guests can watch Nikita and Berlin antics.  Last fall penguins were introduced with the opening of the Helzberg Penguin Plaza.
